Anti Oppression Education
Umulkhayr has five years experience designing and delivering various training around issues of Equity and Anti-Opression
and Anti-racist ways of working in the arts and cultural sectors. In this time they have worked with the following organisations, amongst others;
Amgueddfa Cymru, National Theatre Wales, Independent Cinema Office, Rising Arts Agency, BFI FAN Network, Literature Wales.
With a deep commitment to advancing equity and inclusion, they specialise in helping organisations move beyond basic EDI training to foster truly transformative change. Their expertise spans anti-racist education, decolonising working practices within arts and cultural organisations, and supporting art workers of colour in predominantly white-led institutions. They are dedicated to developing non-extractive ways of working with marginalised communities, ensuring that their voices are genuinely heard and respected. Their work also explores the intersections of race, disability, gender, and sexual diversity, always adopting an anti-oppression approach to shaping company policies and procedures.
Umulkhayr is open to enquiries of the following kind of paid work in this area currently;
- Organisation policy, procedure and strategy anti-oppression review consultation
- Desigining customised e-learning modules on anti-oppression for Directors and staff
- Coming in as an anti-oppression consulant in the context of supporting marginalised staff challanging unfair treatment and/or systemic discrimination
